"Enniskillen in the Rare Ould Times," the third publication, which encapsulates more memories of old Enniskillen, will be launched this evening (Friday).
The Millennium Babes are launching the publication in Enniskillen Library from 7pm. The guest speaker will be Dr. Aideen McGinley and Patricia Donnelly will speak on behalf of "the townies."
The third volume, comprising 316 pages of stories from around 70 authors and beautifully illustrated with 700 photographs, will be on sale tonight for £10 or for sale after the launch at £12.99. A limited number of the second book will also be available on the night.
Each page discloses wonderful insights into life as it was in Enniskillen over 50 years ago, stories to captivate readers, say the authors.
"Like the other two books, this book illustrates a way of life that encompasses fun, humour, hardship and a strong sense of community and camaraderie between all of those who were brought up in this wonderful island town," says the publishers.
The public is invited to attend the launch with refreshments served by Declan and Barry Muldoon.
Fermanagh County Museum has agreed to bring old street signs and other memorabilia while Michael McPhillips will make a presentation of old photographs of Enniskillen and Headhunters Railway Museum enthusiasts also welcome people on the night. Music will be provided by Carlo Lucchesi. The publishers say they are grateful to shop owners who have agreed to sell the book following the launch.
